Intergraph® Announces FLSmidth, Petrofac and EIL as Winners of Drivers of Success Competition for CADWorx®, CAESAR II® and PV Elite®
Winners recognized during CAU2013@HxGN LIVE in Las Vegas06 6月 2013
FLSmidth for CADWorx®, Petrofac Saudi Arabia for CAESAR II® and Engineers India Limited (EIL) for PV Elite® were selected as the winning entries in the Intergraph® 2013 Drivers of Success Awards user competition. Drivers of Success winners were honored this week during CADWorx & Analysis University 2013 at HxGN LIVE (CAU2013@HxGN LIVE) in Las Vegas, the annual user conference for Intergraph’s Process, Power & Marine division and the Hexagon family of brands’ other businesses.
The annual competition is open to all users of Intergraph CADWorx, CAESAR II and PV Elite who submit stories throughout the year and share their successes using these software products. The winning entry for each of the products received a trip to CAU2013@HxGN LIVE.
The submission from FLSmidth, with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, describes how the supplier of equipment, services and expertise for the cement and minerals industries deployed CADWorx on a US$63 million copper concentrator design project for Kazakhmys PLC in Kazakhstan. A major project challenge for FLSmidth’s Salt Lake City, Utah, office was its aggressive schedule. Relying on CADWorx’s ease of use, design performance, accuracy and increased output helped FLSmidth reduce training time to three man-days compared to 15 man-days with its previous platform. Examples of man-hour savings were 50 percent on the piping specificationsand 75 percent for the isometric configuration, allowing FLSmidth to complete the project well within schedule.
The entry from Petrofac, one of the world’s leading oilfield service companies, discusses the company’s US$5 billion Rabigh II refining and petrochemical project for Saudi Aramco and Sumitono Chemical, which involved CAESAR II stress analysis reports for 248 stress systems, including stress isometrics, all reports, calculations, datasheets and civil and structural loadings data. With 198 interface points with other EPC contractors, CAESAR II helped the firm reduce man-hours by more than 20 percent.
EIL discussed the Green Fuel and Emission Control (GFEC) project for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. that included mechanical design of the continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) reactor, with four reactors mounted one above the other. By using PV Elite, the company was able to simplify this highly complex project, saving time and meeting the tight project deadline.
Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, “The Drivers of Success awards recognize the innovative applications of CADWorx, CAESAR II and PVElite by our customers as well as the project benefits they attained from implementing these solutions. All of this year’s success stories reflect how Intergraph customers are seeing faster project completion and higher productivity with Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions products.”
Among the Drivers of Success runners-up are: Austral, L&T Valdel Engineering and L&T Chiyoda for CAESAR II; Petrofac, SICA Metalurgica and Ormat Systems for PV Elite, and Black Cat Engineering Construction for CADWorx. Each runner-up receives an Apple iPod Touch or iPod Nano.
The Drivers of Success competition recognizes innovative applications of the products, impressive project results and significant benefits from collaboration among disciplines and the integration of the products.
