The Challenge
Bureau ESG, an information technologies systems integration company, launched a pilot project to implement Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise technologies in the steel industry in Russia.
Project objectives were to:
- Create a model of cooperation between design departments within the company when using different design systems
- Train technical support specialists
- Prepare equipment catalogs for further system operations
- Create an ‘as-built’ model
Over the course of project, the modernization, redesign and construction of a new gas cleaning entrapment unit was required. The final goal was to set the dust level of gases in the discharge chimney to no more than 10mg/nm3, which corresponds to international standards.
The Solution
The newly created gas cleaning unit model served as a turning point in modernizing the whole system.
During the project, rolled steel catalogs (27), pipe catalogs - including plastic pipes and drains (17) – and the full ventilation catalog were prepared.
More than 20 customer employees were trained to work with the Smart 3D system; several departments now have system set-up specialists.
Design departments have successfully launched the coordination system using different systems of design.
