Intergraph® PP&M Canada Announces Date for Global Engineering Conference in Calgary

Intergraph® Process, Power and Marine (PP&M), the leading global provider of engineering software, has announced its 2014 Canadian User Conference will be held in Calgary on Wednesday, October 22.
Intergraph Canada PP&M User Conference (formerly ICAN) 2014 features an agenda packed with technology updates and compelling customer presentations. Intergraph PP&M Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Development Charles Evans will offer a keynote presentation that highlights how Intergraph technologies have enabled organizations of all sizes globally to increase productivity, data quality and operations efficiencies using smart engineering technologies, and how these technologies are adapting to address rapidly changing global engineering environments.
Customer keynotes from leading Canada energy companies will highlight the conference, which will be heldat the Telus Convention Centre in downtown Calgary. Featured success stories from owner operators and engineering organizations include:
- Jim Quinn, Vice President of Engineering at North West Redwater Partnership with his presentation titled, “Conducting a Mega-Project in a Centrally Hosted SmartPlant® Suite Environment: An Owner’s Perspective.”
- Jean Carlos Urdaneta, Supply Chain Leader of Capital Projects at Devon Canada on managing the project procurement cycle using SmartPlant Materials to gain efficiencies on oil sands construction projects.
- Shell Canada’s Cindy Tempel, Heavy Oil Asset Information Management (HOAIM) Program Manager, and SmitaDixit, IM Data Control Lead, will present best practices learned through the use of Intergraph SmartPlant Fusion for data handover on Shell’s HOAIM program.
- Jacek Morawksi, Engineering Director of Oil Sands and NaturalResources for AMEC Americas, will highlight the emphasis of data-driven engineering and an effective asset management system for consistent, successful project delivery at AMEC.

More than 150 delegates from prominent industry sectors – including mining and oil and gas – are expected to attend the Canadian conference. The Intergraph PP&M conference series has already visited Japan, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, South Korea and Mexico. Following the Canadian event, the global conferences will arrive at destinations in Europe and Africa, finally arriving in Houston, Texas, on November 11, 2014.
