Medgulf Construction Company, one of the leading Qatar-based contractors focusing mainly on the complex project execution in the oil & gas industry, has chosen Hexagon’s enterprise projects performance solution, EcoSys, to boost project and cost control of its complex, large-scale construction projects.

EcoSys will improve Medgulf’s overall project control and performance activities. The software was chosen mainly for its ability to integrate with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and project management systems, its user-friendliness, as well as robust project control and contract management capabilities.

Medgulf will use the Hexagon software in all its current and upcoming oil & gas and civil and infrastructure projects in Qatar. The software helps Medgulf to enable project portfolio management, a centralized approach to managing and planning that includes capital planning, workforce optimization, project selection and portfolio analysis. With EcoSys, the company will have real-time visibility to the current portfolio as well as live data exchange between portfolio and project management.

M. Bilal Yamout, head of oil & gas business at Medgulf, said, “We chose EcoSys to improve project and cost control as the software provides us with live data as well as the ability to track schedule and cost performance indexes. Besides the software capabilities, we are also impressed with the quality of support and dedication of Hexagon’s local team, who helped us to get the most out of the new tool.”

Philippe Marceau, Hexagon’s PPM division executive vice president for EMIA, said, “It is a pleasure to see how a centralized approach to project management enables Medgulf improve construction project performance.”

EcoSys is an Enterprise Projects Performance software platform that helps projects-driven organizations align and manage organizational strategy and project/contract execution. By increasing visibility into performance and predictability across the full lifecycle of projects and portfolios, EcoSys helps identify what drives project and organizational success, and take proactive measures to maximize returns and margins.
