NESTIX, acquired by Intergraph PP&M in 2016, joined the Team Finland Tour on November 14-16 in Japan. The Team Finland Network promotes Finland’s economic relations, the internationalization of Finnish businesses and Finland’s brand abroad.
The tour was headed by Ms. Anne Berner (Minister of Transport and Communications of Finland) and organized by Finpro and the Embassy of Finland in Japan. The visit belongs to a series of high level delegation visits between Finland and Japan followed a signing of a cooperation agreement between Finland President Sauli Niinistö and Japan Prime Minister Shinzō Abe in March 2016 to emphasize cooperation between the countries in the field of maritime industry and particularly for arctic shipbuilding (North Sea route).
In addition to NESTIX, other Finnish companies that participated in the tour included Aker Arctic, Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, Arctia, Elomatic, ICEYE, Mobimar, Norsepower, Valmet, and Wärtsilä. NESTIX introduced its advanced solutions to companies such as NYK Line, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Mitsui OSK Line, and Japan Marine United (JMU). The aim was to promote the know-how of the companies in arctic shipbuilding, development of unmanned ship operations, clean-tech, and ICT technologies & systems.
