2015 Golden Valve and Platinum Pipe award winners revealed!

Golden Valve Awards

Amec Foster Wheeler, a British multinational consultancy, engineering and project management company headquartered in Raytrace Final 2 PSLondon, received the “Best of Show” award this week during the 15th annual Golden Valve Awards customer competition sponsored by Intergraph.  The “Best of Show” entry by Tyler Enright of Amec Foster Wheeler depicts a night scene rendering detailing a pipe rack on a major Alberta oil sands project. It was produced using the latest version of Intergraph SmartPlant Review, the problem-solving 3D visualization tool that provides a complete visualization environment for interactively reviewing and analyzing large, complex 3D models of process and power plants, and is used by many companies globally.

The Golden Valve Awards competition is sponsored by Intergraph and is open to all SmartPlant and SmartMarine Enterprise engineering design software users. The winners were announced on June 2, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the HxGN LIVE international user conference. Other Golden Valve award winners are:

Platinum Pipe AwardsStayderr

The sixth annual Platinum Pipe Awards recognized the most innovative automation ideas and implementations for SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant Instrumentation (known as SmartPlant Engineering & Schematics); Intergraph Smart 3D; and SmartPlant Review.

Submissions by Shawn Hillen of CB&I (United States), PMM Project of Empresarios Agrupados (Spain) and Tetsuya Miwa of Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan) received first-place recognition in the Engineering & Schematics, Smart 3D and SmartPlant Review categories, respectively. This was the second year the SmartPlant Review Platinum Pipe Award was presented.

Second place in the Engineering & Schematics category was given to Toyo Engineering Corporation’s Miwa, while third place was awarded to Empresarios Agrupados’ PMM Project.

The second-place winner in the Smart 3D category was Caspar Arevad of Ramboll (Denmark). Third place was awarded to ECM's Engineering Team of ECM S.A. Projetos Industriais.

In the SmartPlant Review category, Sherif Mokhtar ElGanady of PGESCo received the second-place award.
