Intergraph celebrates 40 years of innovation, success

This year, Intergraph celebrates its 40th year in business. Founded in 1969 as M&S Computing, Intergraph grew from a small startup to a global leader. By 1980, when M&S Computing changed its name to Intergraph, 60 percent of our business was in process plant design and heavy engineering.

Today, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine is ranked as the No. 1 overall worldwide leader in the engineering design 3D software and Process Engineering Tools (PET) market. That ranking marked the 17th consecutive year that Intergraph has led the worldwide overall plant creation market as compiled by a variety of surveys. Says Intergraph Chairman, President and CEO Halsey Wise:

“By any metric – technological innovation, customer satisfaction, market share or financial performance – Intergraph’s 40 years of success in the technology sector have been remarkable. Although such longevity is unusual in the software industry, the unwavering commitment by the people of Intergraph to innovation and our customers’ success have been instrumental to the Company’s longevity and leadership in the marketplace.”

Intergraph continues our tradition of innovation, from our first plant design solution back in 1978, to the PDS launch in 1984, to our introductions of SmartPlant and SmartMarine enterprise solutions, with our latest offering, SmartPlant Construction. Intergraph’s 40 years of innovation are highlighted in the latest of Insight magazine. Read the whole story here.
